October & November Catch Up

That’s right I’ve been a crap blogger lately – only 1 post in November. Oops! Wish I could say I have a valid reason but I don’t.

Here’s what’s been keeping me distracted:

Having fun with Yvonne in our onesies! Long gone are the days when we’d be drinking all day and night, now it’s all about cheesy movies, cosy PJs and mulled cider.

Drunken selfie after a night at the Hibs Club for a 40th. As usual I was crap and forgot to take an outfit shot.

Treating myself to a Clinique Chubby Stick – review to come soon.

Getting my nails Shellac’d – really like the grey with glitter on top. I’m rubbish with nails so even my Shellac doesn’t last as long as it should do ūüė¶

Buying this adorable owl necklace from Persun Mall

Ate THE most delicious desserts from Madeleine’s¬†Patisserie¬†in Stockbridge. Yvonne, Jade and I almost wept over how good these were!

I’ve also been buying some well needed knitwear including a super cute Henry Holland polka dot number which I’ll post about soon.

Sure there’s plenty more I’ve been occupied with but just can’t remember at the moment

September Round Up

How quickly another month has rolled around, can’t believe it’s October already. Before we know it it’ll be Christmas! Not that I’m overly worried about it, I’ve actually started buying gifts already. Get me being all productive, let’s see how long it lasts. Anyhoo, onto photos from September.

My mum kindly took my niece and I to see Hairspray at the Edinburgh Playhouse. We saw the show 2 years ago but it has to be said it was much better this time around. My niece loves the movie and sings the songs ALL the time, she says when she grows up she wants to play Little Inez on the stage and I quite believe she will.

Jade and I attended the Stockfest closing party which had a 1940s theme. The party took place at The Last Word Saloon in Stockbridge and it was lovely to see many of the guests make an effort with their outfits although there was some folk who just rocked up in their normal colours – poor show.

Luckily I pulled together a pretty convincing 40s get up from pieces from my own wardrobe.

Dress: Pearl Lowe for Peacocks

Shoes: No idea where these are from!

Bag: Jail Dornoch (not an actual jail but a quirky little shop in Dornoch!)

I even went all out and bought these seamed stockings from Ann Summers.

Not bad for my first attempt at victory rolls. Youtube has an abundance of tutorials showing how to do this hairstyle but I found Lacquer and Lace to be the best. ¬†Since I always wear black liquid eyeliner and Russian Red MAC lipstick all the time anyway, I didn’t have to change my make up.

How prettiful does Jade look??

We made the error of going into town afterwards – EPIC fail. I felt ridiculous in my outfit with all these teeny boppers in barely there dresses and sky high heels. We promptly gave up and I was home for just after 1am, oh how times have changed!

I’m coveting monochrome accessories right now so this H&M bag is right up my street, available for ¬£19.99 I’m seriously tempted to buy it.

Carla bought me this sweet unicorn tote bag from Primark, have used it loads already.

I’ve been favouring this Rimmel nail polish in Purple Rain lately, it’s actually the same colour as liquorice sambuca!

So that was my month – I’ve been working an obscene amount lately so it was a fairly quiet September for me

StockFest Fashion Show

Another day, another fashion show! Yes I know it’s not quite Milan or Paris but I have attended several fashion shows lately and being the bad blogger that I am I have only just got around to upload my photos. StockFest was a week’s worth of events organised by shops and companies in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh and Yvonne, Jade and I attended the closing party at Fettes College.

Yes all 3 of us did wear leather jackets! The majority of my outfit is Peacocks but I added my Alexander McQueen scarf and River Island boots to break it up a bit. I bought this maxi dress about 3 years ago and haven’t worn it in over a year but I quite like it with the jacket.

The show featured clothing and accessories from stores such as Lilies & Dreams, Eden, Chic and Unique,  Those Were The Days and Hibiscus Flower amongst several others. Quick word of warning: the cocktails and champagne may have effected my photo taking skills Рbasically we got hammered and my photos are awful!

The only criticism I had about the show was not all of the models came right down the “catwalk” which may have contributed to (along with the alcohol) the awful photos. As this was the first StockFest I’m sure I can overlook this though! I am interested in attending more of the StockFest events next year and thought it was a great way to alert a wider audience to all these great little boutiques right on our doorsteps. I have since visited Lilies and Dreams and Eden and will post about Lilies and Dreams soon.

We were also treated to a burlesque performance after the fashion show which led a rather drunken Yvonne and Jade to declaring they want to attend burlesque classes – let’s see if that happens or not!
