October & November Catch Up

That’s right I’ve been a crap blogger lately – only 1 post in November. Oops! Wish I could say I have a valid reason but I don’t.

Here’s what’s been keeping me distracted:

Having fun with Yvonne in our onesies! Long gone are the days when we’d be drinking all day and night, now it’s all about cheesy movies, cosy PJs and mulled cider.

013

Drunken selfie after a night at the Hibs Club for a 40th. As usual I was crap and forgot to take an outfit shot.

Treating myself to a Clinique Chubby Stick – review to come soon.

002

Getting my nails Shellac’d – really like the grey with glitter on top. I’m rubbish with nails so even my Shellac doesn’t last as long as it should do ūüė¶

Buying this adorable owl necklace from Persun Mall

040

Ate THE most delicious desserts from Madeleine’s¬†Patisserie¬†in Stockbridge. Yvonne, Jade and I almost wept over how good these were!

I’ve also been buying some well needed knitwear including a super cute Henry Holland polka dot number which I’ll post about soon.

Sure there’s plenty more I’ve been occupied with but just can’t remember at the moment

Should I Bother???

So whilst cardigans are nothing new for Autumn/Winter the surprise object of lust amongst bloggers such as Sarah @ BloodRedMoon, Charnelle and Helen appears to be cardigans of the fluffy variety and I have been wondering whether to follow suit.

I know that Primark are selling these for ¬£12 but I’m leaning more toward the New Look version even though it is more expensive at ¬£24.99

new look fluffy cardigan

Because of work I’d have to opt for the black version but it also comes in cream which my darling niece tried on recently!

"It's sooooooooo soft LeeLee, I want one in my size"

“It’s sooooooooo soft LeeLee, I want one in my size”

She’s such a little fashionista and likes to pick out her own clothes and she probably owns more handbags than my sister does!

IF (more like when) I do buy this then I’d pair it with my trusty H! by Henry Holland (p)leather skirt, a basic black tee, black opaque tights and my little suede Primark booties. It’s totes about the different textures when it comes to an all black ensemble dontcha know.

I can see me wearing this cardigan constantly and for non work days it would be so easy to throw on over a dress, just add tights and boots and I’d be all set for the rapidly decreasing temperatures.

The one way I can add a touch of fun into my work outfits is with accessories so I’d wear one of my ever-growing collection of Jiji Kiki necklaces, my newest one is a cartoon unicorn¬†– SO cute.

The necklace has now sold out but please go check out the website for the huge variety of jewellery at affordable prices.

So have you succumbed to the fluffy cardigan fad?

Should I bother?

Would love to know thoughts

I Can See Clearly Now The Rain Has Gone…

This post was scheduled for last week during that rare event when we had 2 sunny days in a row! Unfortunately it didn’t post ¬†and now with the weather being back to normal (i.e. cloudy and blowing a gale) the effect is somewhat lost!

I practically live in black clothes so on the odd occasion I actually wear an ensemble that doesn’t contain any black I HAVE to take a photo and blog about it!

Green top: Henry Holland

Jeans: H&M

Caridgan & Shoes: New Look

Belt: Peacocks

Sunglasses & Bag: Vintage

I LOVE this colour combo. The outfit feels fun and is very casual for me but I still feel presentable! The top hs little swimming ladies on it as well as polka dots. Mixing that print with striped shoes and polka dot sunglasses shouldn’t really work but I think because it’s all in small doses I’ve carried it off. Unfortunately this outfit didn’t get an outting to anywhere exciting, a day of running errands ūüė¶

What do you think of my outfit?

My Recent Purchases

I’ve been awfully good to ¬†my wee self lately and purchased quite a few well needed items. AND I also purchased my first Christmas present! Yes I know the “C” word might fill some of you with the fear but as Debenhams had their discount event on and I had some spare pennies it would have been foolish of me not to take advantage of the offer. Obviously I don’t want to say who I bought for or what I bought but come Christmas Day I’ll be excited to see said person’s reaction. But enough about other peoples: back to me!

Here’s what I’ve been buying:

This Henry Holland for Debenhams cardigan fills me with joy! Have worn it twice and had lots of compliments on it.

These H&M super skinny jeans are actually more of a cobalt blue and at a bargainous £14.99 I can see me buying them in almost every colour.

Obviously I’m not gonna get much use (if any) out of these Kurt Geiger wedges but the colours appealed to me and they were a super cheap ¬£19 in the sale! These will be my staple shoes next summer

Despite me moaning about suede boots in my Winter Footwear post I couldn’t resist buying these River Island wedges boots and I’m SO glad I did! I have worn them everyday since I bought them on Saturday and they are super comfy and go with loads of outfits plus the strip of leopard print is very me!

I actually bought these boots to wear to the Musselburgh Races which I went to on Monday. Unfortunately we got rained on pretty early on in the day so I didn’t get any blog-worthy photos but I felt very cute in my ASOS shirt dress, black tights and these boots along with (p)leather jacket and my faithful Paul’s Boutique bag. It was the first time I’ve ever been to the races and I had an absolute blast! Having a winner and a second might have had something to do with that ūüėČ

This little haul should freshen up my wardrobe quite a bit although I do still need to buy more trousers and a pair of winter boots.

Do you like my recent purchases? Have you bought anything prettiful lately?

Needing Knitwear

It is getting to that time of year again when we have to start thinking about winter wardrobes. My current wardrobe consists of very little knitwear and this is due to me being a slightly¬† rather “curvy” girl. But with designers belting their knitwear on the AW 12 catwalks I feel better prepared for facing my least favourite seasons. But at least if I invest in some knitwear soon I’ll have something to layer over my many dresses. At present I only own about 5 cardigans and the majority are black but since I’ve started blogging I feel more confident wearing and mixing prints so the majority of knitwear that I’ve been looking at is printed.

ASOS £32

Red lipstick jumper to match my MAC Russian Red lipstick ¬† ‚̧ this!

Forever 21 £10.50

Basic but a classic

Forever 21 £18.75

Red and navy are one of my favourite colour combos

M&Co £35

I like the ombre effect of this plus the colours are a change from the earthy autumn tones usually seen

Mint Velvet £59

Love the print and exposed zips on this

With a jacket/coat on this looks like a plain sweater but the printed sleeves add a “younger” touch

Gap £16.99

The Gap knitwear I’ve owned in the past has been such good quality it’s lasted for years

Dorothy Perkins £30

Unicorns are kind of an “in” joke with Yvonne, Carla and myself so I absolutely adore this sweater! I don’t think the colour would do much for me otherwise I’d buy this ASAP.

Henry Holland at Debenhams £30.40

I first spied and fell in love with this cardigan several weeks ago. It’s usually ¬£38 but it’s currently 20% off so I’m gonna have to snap this up quick. It feels sober soft and will add a touch of “me” to a more basic outfit.

Jonathan Saunders at Debenhams £39.20

If I bought this it would probably be the only time I’d ever own anything by Jonathan Saunders!

It’s not just jumpers and cardigans I’ve been lusting after: knitted dresses and skirts are also chic for Autumn/Winter

While Gap do have some lovely cashmere dresses I’d rather not shell out ¬£130 for a sweater dress which is most likely going to get rained on!

ASOS £30

This is quite basic but could be dressed in a million different ways. This colour is always a favourite of mine for Autumn/Winter

Topshop £36

The paisley print is pretty sweet

Mango £39.99

Knit dresses are ever so versatile and this grey number could be funked up with coloured/printed tights

Do you favour printed knitwear? Have I missed any cool cardigans?

Wanna Go Back To School!

Although it’s been a ¬†few *cough cough* years since I’ve been at school this time of year always inspires me to buy a new bag, back in my school days there was nothing better than shopping for a new bag.

I’m loving satchels alot at the moment but I have included a few other styles of bags that are catching my eye at the moment.

ASOS £28

Classic shape, pretty colour and great price

DKNY £254

Quelle surprise I like an animal print bag! Someone buy me this please??

H! By Henry Holland at Debenhams £35

Love the clothing range, love this bag!

Paul’s Boutique “Molly” ¬£56

Paul’s Boutique “Sacha” ¬£60

Obviously I would take the charms off!

River Island £30

Not really a “school” bag but fringed and zebra print, of course am gonna covet it.

Edina Ronay at TK Maxx £49.99

Yup yet more animal print

Zatchels £97

Polka dot and satchel = pretty much my ideal bag

Zatchels £104

This bag could be used for years and years

What do you think of these bags? Anyone else inspired to buy a new bag at this time of year?
