Birthday And Christmas Wishlist

I really do think I am the easiest person in the world to buy for: I like pretty things and handbags and accessories and shoes and handbags and jewellery and beauty products and handbags. Did I mention I like handbags?! So it puzzles me when my nearest and dearest complain about not knowing what to buy me for birthday or Christmas. I’m unfortunate to celebrate my day of birth a mere 6 days before Christmas. With this in mind I thought I’d put together an easy wishlist of prettiful things I’d be ever so grateful for 😉

£36 at House Of Fraser

£36 at House Of Fraser

I didn’t jump on the Urban Decay bandwagon when the Naked palettes were big news but lately I’ve favoured a neutral eye (and I need a change from my standard black liquid eyeliner) and if I’m going to go neutral then I might as well go for the best and the original.

Real Techniques at Cocktail Cosmetics £29.95

Real Techniques at Cocktail Cosmetics £29.95

I really am in dire need of some decent make up brushes and everyone raves about the Real Technique ones so I’d like to give them a go. This Sam Chapman Picks set is an ideal starter kit.

Michael Kors at House Of Fraser £310

Michael Kors at House Of Fraser £310

Ever so slightly expensive for a birthday or Christmas gift but I would love, love, love to own this Bedford satchel. It’s just a classic shape that will NEVER go out of style.

Converse at Schuh £43

Converse at Schuh £43

This may come as a shocker to my friends and family but I REALLY want a pair of cons. I wore a pair of my mum’s Converse during the summer with maxi dresses and liked the look. Plus I have found the ideal pair of jeans so would be able to rock a casual look more often.

Would prefer this tee in black but would be great as I’m a massive Marilyn fan.

Obscure Couture at ASOS £45

Obscure Couture at ASOS £45

I blogged about this tee aaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago and still didn’t get round to buying it so I’m putting it on my wishlist.

I really don’t need another LBD but the netting and dots make this unlike any other black dress I own.

I kind of NEED this necklace in my life!

So there we go, the pretty things I’d like!

Searching For The Perfect Watch

Time for a confession: I haven’t worn a watch for at least 10 years.

Not because I can’t tell the time or because I rely on my phone but my body hates watches. Seriously. I can wear a watch and within hours/days/weeks it’ll break. I’ve tried taking watches back to the manufacturers and complaining yet they don’t find a fault. The problem is ME! I’ve since looked into it after breaking numerous expensive watches and it’s all to do with the electric current running through the body. Whilst the majority of people have no problems with technology my messed up body decides it doesn’t like watches, cameras and phones. In fact years ago my friend’s central locking in her car used to play up when I was travelling!

Recently though I’ve been fine with phones and cameras (touch wood) so I’ve decided it’s time to invest in a watch (excuse the pun). My problem is after years of not wearing a watch I don’t know what style to go for and I’m wary of buying an expensive one in case it breaks. I desperately need one for work so had a quick search one lunchtime in New Look and Primark and none suffice. Also seen a couple on the John Lewis website but they are all bloody sold out.

I know what I don’t want:

Plastic
Cheap looking
Digital
One of those charm bracelet types
Novelty i.e. with ears or mustaches on
A rip off of a designer style

Unsurprisingly the few watches I have seen and liked are all designer – Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Lulu Guinness.

I want something classic that’ll go with anything I’m wearing, not too big and not too small. I’m beginning to feel a bit like Goldilocks here….

Here’s what I’ve found on the internet:

Limit via WatchShop.com £24.99

Limit at WatchShop.com £24.99

Not really sure if this is very “me” but it looks small and discreet.

River Island at ASOS £20

River Island at ASOS £20

The colour mix of metals would work well with my jewellery. Annoying that they don’t have it on the River Island website or instore though.

Oasis at H Samuel £33.99

Oasis at H Samuel £33.99

Clearly I’m feeling the two tone.

Timex at Jewellery Junkies £58.49

Timex at Jewellery Junkies £58.49

Bit more expensive than I was aiming for but this is exactly the kind of watch I’d like.

Not a whole lot to choose from, don’t even think I’m being particularly picky!

Any suggestions of nice yet inexpensive watches?

Expanding My Horizons… With Ji Ji Kiki

If you’re wondering about the title this post is part of a series where I find new stores/websites I’ve fallen in love with and Ji Ji Kiki is the latest brand to capture my heart. Classed as an independent online boutique I adore the quirky jewellery and the homewares section is just lush.

The titles of their clothing makes me smile. SO much nicer than a generic “red ruched dress” etc.

Both dresses are VERY me.

The jewellery is a mixture of quirky and vintage inspired pieces and any store selling unicorn accessories is immediately going to appeal to me!

There is also a vintage section where you can buy jewellery and homewares with prices starting from £3.50.

I had one of these mugs! Seeing it again totally takes me back to my childhood where a lukewarm cup of tea was concerned a treat and made me feel like a grown up.

I’m also impressed with by the look of their handbags.

So what are you waiting for?! Go check out Ji Ji Kiki for some quirky goodies at fab prices. As soon as pay-day comes around that red boat dress is mine!

Have you heard of Ji Ji Kiki? What do you think of my picks?

London Wishlist

I’m heading to London in July to see the swoonsome Michael Buble in concert and spending the weekend there exploring and shopping. Since London is the fashion capital I’m anxious to make sure I look my best, plus I’m envisioning “bumping” into Prince Harry 😉 Although I like to look at photos of the London street style it’s not a look I could pull off so I’m gonna stick to items within my comfort zone. I’ve been warned not to take a huge suitcase but c.mon we are going from the Friday to the Monday so I’m going to need a fair few items!

Here’s the items I can imagine wearing while I’m away although in reality I’ll be stuck wearing the same old clothes that I currently own:

Miss Patina £68.80

Miss Patina £68.80

Very pretty and ladylike.

I can imagine wearing this when Harry invites me to Buckingham Palace. Me, delusional?! never!

Gorgeous colour and lovely detailing on the bag, this could work for day or night.

We are going out for a fancy dinner one night so I’d wear this with my black Carvela heels and a sparkly black clutch bag I already own.

These nude wedges would go with the majority of the outfits I’ve picked and they’d be comfortable enough for sight seeing.

Could be worn with the Miss Patina dress or the Only jeans.

A great statement piece which could easily smarten up a basic tee.

Would look great against the coral maxi dress and also with a basic tee to wear with the Only jeans.

Again another item that could be worn for day or night.

I’m seriously considering buying this dress and wearing with my trusty leather jacket.

Very pretty for summer although I’d pair it with black accessories to stop it looking too twee.

I’d wear with a black cami, leather jacket, tonnes of eye liner and attitude!

Jazzing up a basic staple with the croc effect.

Would go with loads of my existing wardrobe as well as the Only jeans.

Only £27.95

Only £27.95

Brilliant colour for summer.

For evening these could be smartened up with aforementioned Carvela heels and the fab Three Floor top.

July needs to hurry up as I’m FAR too excited about this trip already. Have planned to visit Harrods, Selfridges, Madame Tussauds, Camden Market and star spot in Chelsea. Although if I buy these clothes I won’t have any money to spend in that London! Any recommendations of places I should go? Or restaurants I should try? Any fashiony events I should attend or shops I HAVE to check out?

Blossoms In The Street

As if I need to tell you fashion savvy lot but floral headbands are HUGE right now. A multitude of celebs including Lana Del Ray, Pixie Lott and Alexa Chung have been snapped wearing them and now there are an abundance of affordable head pieces hitting the high street.

Personally I’m a fan of the smaller styles as I don’t think I have enough hair for the bigger styles.

fb rosie fortescueMade In Chelsea’s Rosie Fortescue is spotted here wearing a Crown & Glory band but I think the flowers are too big for her hair and the band is placed rather far back on the head, she would have been better off with any of the following Crown & Glory headbands

Other websites worth checking out include: Rock n Rose, Urban Outfitters and Dolly BowBow

Are you a fan of floral crowns? Any recommendations on where else to buy similar headbands?

You Belong To Me

I’ve been searching for the ideal everyday black handbag – post coming soon- but in the meantime I’ve found these lovelies that although don’t live in my price bracket they belong on my arm.

It’s not that I’m a pauper, oh no, I’ve got a fair few DKNY bags in my collection, an extensive collection that must be worth a fair few quid now. But I now longer have the funds to go out and spend 3 figures on a handbag that I really don’t need. However as I’m such a spoilt bitch, thanks to the ma and pa, I still covet pretty things so this wishlist is here to inspire me to find a full time, well paid job so I can indulge myself again!

Smaak £195 Available at Covet

This bag doesn’t cost the earth, is a neutral colour and a decent sized shape, can you see why I need this in my life?!

Loeffler Randall £435 Available at Harvey Nichols

Such a stunning colour, would be a real stand out piece but surprisingly easy to wear. Neutrals, navy, black, white – this bag would add a little pop to all these colours.

REISS £225

REISS £225

The shape and gold detailing give this bag an art deco vibe which adds a touch of class to any ensemble. Can imagine this being popular just now what with the hype about The Great Gatsby (which I am dying to see).

Modaly Kelis Tote £220 Available at John Lewis

This is the bag that would make me feel like a “proper” grown up.

Radley £349

I already own a Radley bag but not as pretty as this ladylike number. This looks dainty but is a big enough bag to carry around day to day essentials.

Fossil £165

Fossil £165

I have a “thing” for tan bags but this one really makes my heart flutter. Looks basic enough but it’s all in the little details such as the stitching and buckles.

Furla £199.99 Avaiable at TK Maxx

The website says this is dark brown although it looks black to me. Regardless this is a classic shape and every woman needs an understated bag like this in their collection.

Whaddya think of my picks? Any expensive bags you’ve got your eye on?

Liking The Look Of…

Pretty things I’ve seen and want:

Zara £29.99

Zara £29.99

I just think this skirt would be very easy to wear. I’ve lots of red and pink accessories so would pick and choose. Best to pair this skirt with a plain tee.

Charles Philip Shanghai at Harvey Nichols £130

Charles Philip Shanghai at Harvey Nichols £130

Charles Philip Shanghai at Harvey Nichols £145

Charles Philip Shanghai at Harvey Nichols £145

COMPLETELY out of my price range but can we please take a second to absorb the beauty of these babies.

In a variety of prints and materials, these slipper shaped shoes are flats at their best.

InLoveWithFashion £34

InLoveWithFashion £34

Favourite aspect of this playsuit is the long sleeves, perfect for those days when it’s nice out but the sun isn’t splitting the stones. I’d wear this with a denim waistcoat and tan wedges.

Tripp NYC at DollyDagger £65

Tripp NYC at DollyDagger £65

I have a thing for polka dots. And stripes. And black. And white. And red. Can you see where I’m going with this??

This scalloped necklace almost looks like a metallic collar. Could be worn with most outfits.

I feel I should be over mullet hems by now but there’s something about the colour and print of this dress that appeals.

Whaddya think of my picks? What have YOU been lusting after recently?
