Jazzing Up An Old Party Dress

Think the title kinda says it all: not everyone has money to fork out for a new party dress this festive period but looking good on a budget IS achievable thanks to statement jewellery. With most of these pieces being uber cheap you can afford to splash out on new shoes or a new bag to spruce up an old outfit too.

Necklaces/Collars

H&M £14.99

Collars are still BIG news and such an easy way to update a classic dress or top.

I particularly like the colour of this one.

Bad Candy £15.75

Talk about a statement necklace! This Egyptian style necklace would add a fashion punch to even the most basic of LBDs.

Talullah Tu £32

Grazia also featured this beauty and it’s easy to see why – the black and bling will go with almost any outfit and is a surefire talking point.

Bracelets/Bangles

Envious Desire £11.95

Add a touch of class with this cameo bangle

Talullah Tu £22

Piled on with other bracelets or worn on it’s own this pretty little number will be one hard working piece in your jewellery collection.

ASOS £18

Statement doesn’t always have to mean chunky: these bracelets and a cocktail ring would look glam.

Earrings

H&M £5.99

Blingtastic earrings for the price of a cocktail. Get in.

ASOS £15

With the mixture of colours in these earrings they are guaranteed to go with most of your wardrobe.

Oliver Bonas £18

These dainty earrings look very pretty.

Rings

Chelsea Doll £9

Delicate but oversized.

ChelseaDoll £10

Cos everyone needs a guardian angel to stop them from making an erse idiot of themselves at the work’s Christmas do 😉

Oliver Bonas £28

This intricate ring just screams Christmas to me!

Whilst I have included some high street stores I am such a supporter of smaller businesses/boutiques and lesser known brands which also means you have less chance of seeing someone wearing the same item as you.

The great thing about all these statement pieces is that none of them are overly festive meaning whilst they will jazz up your party dress they will work just as well with jeans and a tee come Spring.

Christmas Party…. With Barratts Shoes

Christmas Party.... With Barratts Shoes
Another day another fab giveaway I’ve stumbled across: Over at Kel Loves one lucky blogger can win £70 to spend on pretty shoes in Barratts. Go check out Kel’s blog for full details. Bloggers who want to take part have to come up with a Christmas themed outfit, mines is for a Christmas party.
It is the festive period so if you cannot be over the top now then when can you? This dress has a lovely flare to the skirt (cue lots of swirling around in it) the over the knee socks make a welcome change from black opaque tights and the boots pull the whole look together with the accessories.
I spent aaaaaaaaages looking at the Barratts website as they had so many pairs of shoes and boots that I want.
What do you think of my entry? Would you wear this to a Christmas party?

Girl Crush #5

Model and aspiring DJ, fashion icon, daughter to famous parents: Daisy Lowe should be envied by millions yet comes across as universally likeable. Just look at the photos below. She exudes a raw sensuality whilst still maintaining a rock ‘n’ roll image.

Loving that dark lipstick

Famous parents, designer Pearl Lowe and Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, and cool musician boyfriends aside Daisy is known first and foremost as a successful model who has walked the catwalks in New York, London and Milan as well as working with major brands such as Agent Provocateur, Whistles, Biba and Burberry.

Modelling mum Pearl Lowe’s designs for Peacocks

Not only is she blessed with a ridiculously attractive body but she also has the world’s coolest woman, Gwen Stefani, as her stepmother – how is that fair?!

What do you think of Daisy’s style? Are you a fan?

October Round Up

Not something I usually do but I seem to have a fair few photos that I haven’t blogged so I thought I’d enlighten you all as to what has been occupying me throughout October.

Me, Ashleigh and Lauren “flaunting” our assets before a night in town

Carla and Me. I’m wearing trousers. On a night out!!!!!!! This NEVER happens.

Loving my faux fur headband from Tesco

Not usually a girlie girl when it comes to nails but I actually really like this baby pink with gold tips. Both nail polishes Barry M.

I adore oversized bows and was pleased when I turned my vintage Balmain scarf into a big ass bow!

Scenery shots from Cramond

My Halloween make up. Didn’t quite realise how heavy those long lashes were. My niece told me I looked like her favourite Monster High character!

Mini pumpkins carved by Me and Carla – it was meant to be a fun activity for the kids to do but they ignored us while we had fun.
