How I Wore It

As any regular readers will know I don’t often post photos of my own outfits on here but I think from now on I might randomly do it. Houndstooth is still fairly big this winter and this River Island dress (which I stole from the bestest a few months back) is last season but it’s fail safe for me. Add some red accessories, or in my case red lipstick, and let the print do the talking.

Dress: River Island    Shoes: Peacocks    Jewellery: Vintage/Borrowed   Lipstick: MAC Russian Red

Excuse my Casper like whiteness – our night out was rather spontaneous and I hadn’t tanned in a while! The skater style of this dress is a good shape for me as it covers my big boobedness and I like having my legs out.

Worn with my leather jacket and vintage bag, I felt comfy yet “me” in this outfit. Lauren’s smoky eyes and Primark peplum top looked fab on the night.

Of course once the alcohol takes effect I often think it’s a good idea to make silly facials and steal hats!

Are you a fan of houndstooth? Do you make silly facials when drunk?

It’s All About The Slogan

The weather is crazy right now. I never know what to wear in the morning. If I wear a dress without tights will I look silly when it inevitably starts raining? If I wear jeans will I swelter if the sun comes out? One failsafe way to be comfortable and look stylish is with a slogan tee. Be it teamed with a skirt and tights or jeans and converse these t-shirts are a real talking point. And no I’m not talking those tacky “Keep Calm And……” or “Team Whatever Celebrity” ones!

Don’t believe me? Well what about the whole host of celebrities who wear them. Loved by Michelle Keegan and The Saturdays everyone from Jessica Simpson to Kim Kardashian to Kate Moss has been papped wearing one.

Kate Moss

Mena Suvari

Michelle Keegan

Una & Mollie from The Saturdays

Here’s my pick of the best slogan t-shirts around:

8 Ball

There is a wide variety of Big Bang tees out there but this is the first comic style one I’ve seen.

The Holding Out For A Hero tee is definitely my pick of the bunch, can see me buying this real soon.

More T Vicar

The best moustache t-shirt I’ve seen around!

Truffle Shuffle

Truffle Shuffle have an extensive range of slogan tees and I have purchased from them before. The Clueless one is my fave for sure.

Are you a fan of slogan t-shirts?

Fun at the Fair & Other Frivioulous Frolicking!

On Sunday despite a stonker of a hangover I braved the festival crowds and headed to the HMV Picture House for Judy’s Vintage Fair.

I’ve been to Judy’s vintage fair before however it was at Out of the Blue rather than the HMV Picture House. At the vintage fair there was a staggering array of vintage goodies to be found. Along with my sister Lauren, niece Mya, best friend Yvonne (who was also hungover) and her son Lewis, I was on a mission to find a pair of vintage sunglasses as my old ones had broken last week.

Looking ever so slightly hungover!

If this won’t put people off drinking nothing will!

Lauren rocking her shades

We spent a while trying on different sunglasses

Mya getting into the spirit of the vintage fair!

Unfortunately due to my hangover and Lauren’s OCD we didn’t stay all that long at the vintage fair but I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, there’s some great bargains to be had, I picked up a pair of sunglasses for a fiver and spent £18 on a handbag. Some of the other customers looked amazing in their outfits, my favourites were those who had went all out in full 1950s and 60s ensembles. Please check out Judy’s website here to see any upcoming events in your area.

On Monday Lauren, Carla and I decided to spend a few childfree hours shopping, well I say shopping from the photos below you’ll see I mean dicking around in Primark!

How cute is this canvas?! Had to buy it for my cupcake themed kitchen

That’s me wearing my Matalan pencil skirt, I’d paired it with a fine knit sweater and felt rather Marilynesque until Lauren told me I was more school teacher than 50s siren!

That’ll teach her to say I look like a school teacher mwahahaha!

Doing it like a dude!

Once we’d finished trying on dubious sunglasses we moved onto wigs!

Carla does not look impressed with her short black bob!

Think I look like a cartoon character here!

Despite not buying anything in Primark apart from that awesome canvas I had a ball being silly with the girls and despite it being festival time here in sunny Edinburgh the shop was very quiet as we were there first thing in the morning.

The weather Monday afternoon was glorious so Carla and I headed to Portobello beach to soak up some rays/people watch. Unfortunately the battery on the camera died early on so I couldn’t take any more photos of us larking around 😦

Carla’s mini blankets came in handy!

Primark pumps, vintage bag & sunnies

And there you go that’s what has been keeping me busy these past few days.

Would you like to see more posts like this on my blog? Have you visited vintage fairs before?

Let me know thoughts please you pretty peoples you ❤

Wanna Go Back To School!

Although it’s been a  few *cough cough* years since I’ve been at school this time of year always inspires me to buy a new bag, back in my school days there was nothing better than shopping for a new bag.

I’m loving satchels alot at the moment but I have included a few other styles of bags that are catching my eye at the moment.

ASOS £28

Classic shape, pretty colour and great price

DKNY £254

Quelle surprise I like an animal print bag! Someone buy me this please??

H! By Henry Holland at Debenhams £35

Love the clothing range, love this bag!

Paul’s Boutique “Molly” £56

Paul’s Boutique “Sacha” £60

Obviously I would take the charms off!

River Island £30

Not really a “school” bag but fringed and zebra print, of course am gonna covet it.

Edina Ronay at TK Maxx £49.99

Yup yet more animal print

Zatchels £97

Polka dot and satchel = pretty much my ideal bag

Zatchels £104

This bag could be used for years and years

What do you think of these bags? Anyone else inspired to buy a new bag at this time of year?

Bronzed Goddess (yeah right!)

Bit of a different style of post for me today but thought I’d give this a bash.

Benefit. The products are rated and the packaging is gorgeous. I am die-hard fan of Benefit’s Hoola bronzer and have been using it for the past few years now so I was über excited when my wonderful Momma brought me back the Cabana Glama set from her holibags.

 How prettiful is the packaging???

The travel size of these cosmetics makes it ideal to try before committing to buying the full-sized version. After all who these days has the money to spend £23.50 on a foundation which isn’t suitable?

The Some Kinda Glam foundation fixer is actually a godsend. I initially thought it would be too dark for me as it says for a medium complexion and I’m usually Casper like. In the informative little booklet it states you receive a sponge for applying the foundation however I didn’t have a sponge in mines. Having checked the benefit website this is apparently a typo – a sponge is provided with the full-sized Some Kinda Glam NOT the travel sized. Regardless of sponge or no sponge I loved the coverage it gave me.

The Posie Tint can be used on lips and cheeks although I prefer to use it purely on my cheeks as it adds a “youthful” glow.

Apologies for scaring anyone but this is me completely barefaced! And again apologies for the crappy photos – Blackberry cameras are pretty rubbish but it’s all I had at the time.

This is me just wearing the Some Kinda Glam foundation. It felt nice to put on and gave me pale skin a well needed glow.

Feel a bit creepy posting photos of my eye but its too show of the eye shadows. Again thanks to my shan camera you dont get the full effect but I received a fair few compliments on my eyes that night.

SKG, eye shadows and Hoola on as well as my own eyeliner and mascara.

With the PosieTint on my lips and cheeks

I absolutely adore this cosmetic set and would recommend it to anyone. My only little gripe was the lack of mascara. C’mon Benefit mascara is an essential and should have been included in the kit. I cannot leave the house without wearing liquid eyeliner so I added that to the look aswell. The kit costs £28.50 and makes a wonderful gift (again cheers Momma!).

Have you tried Cabana Glama yet? Is there any other kits like this I should be trying?
